6. From the left panel, select the actions to be executed when any of the
notification rules are triggered. The following options are available:

Send Mail
■
Send Trap
7. In the “Actions Schedule,” select the actions for the notification to be
executed when any of the notification rules are triggered.
8. Click Next and review the notification details to check if any changes
are needed.
9. Click Finish.

OTE
:
If the Notification you have created is already checked, it means that
the Notification is currently running. Uncheck the Notification to
temporarily pause it.
TYPES OF
NOTIFICATION
ACTIONS
The different types of notification actions are:
◆ Send Mail — NMS allows you to schedule and send e-mail notifications
whenever a specified event has occurred.

:
Proper mail parameters are required and mail settings must be
configured through the Preferences tool.
◆ Send SNMP Trap — Send Trap is the default action in the Notification
tool. Whenever an event occurs this action sends a trap to the ECView
Pro Platform and displays the traps on the Event Viewer.
◆ Shutdown/Restart Host — For Windows systems only; shuts down
or restarts the host on which the event occured, or a specific host.
◆ Block Ports — Blocks ports on specified devices.
◆ Play Sound — Plays a specified sound file as a notification.
◆ Run Command — Runs a specified command on the ECView client or
server PC.
◆ ECView System Tray — Displays a Windows system tray message for
a notification.
◆ ECView Popup Window — Dispays a message as a popup window.
◆ Execute Program — Starts a specified program on the ECView client
PC.
